Corporate Social
Responsibility

LDA corporate social responsibility (CSR) is focused on cycling in South Africa, specifically the Bicycle Motor Cross (BMX) discipline in Africa.

Millions of people consider sports as part of their lives. Research shows that participating in youth sports can bring immediate and long-term benefits for youth, their families, and communities. Sports benefit mental health as well as physical health.

Rationale

The importance of CSR for Development Corporate social responsibility (CSR) goes beyond corporate philanthropy or charity work. It is a way for businesses to contribute to the development of society and bring about positive change. In a country like South Africa, where economic inequalities are prevalent, CSR plays a crucial role in addressing socio-economic issues and promoting sustainable development. One area where CSR can significantly impact is supporting underprivileged youth. These young people often face numerous challenges, such as limited access to education and opportunities, which hinder their personal and professional growth.

Our Focus

LDA believes that CSR programs that focus on youth development can have ripple effects on society. Providing opportunities for young people to succeed will contribute to building a more stable and prosperous future for the community.

LDA's CSR efforts in supporting underprivileged youth through BMX provide a prime example of how businesses can utilize their resources and expertise to make a meaningful impact on society. By focusing on the BMX community, LDA is promoting a healthy and active lifestyle and creating opportunities for young people to develop their skills and talents.

What we are doing

Through its partnership with Crupi BMX, LDA has provided much-needed support to underprivileged riders in South Africa. This includes financial support, mentoring, and access to top-of-the-line BMX equipment. This holistic approach aims to develop these young riders as athletes and as positive and responsible members of society.

Additionally, LDA's establishment of a racing team in South Africa has served as a space for these riders to grow and learn, both on and off the racetrack. The team's focus on the CRUPI values of Community, responsibility, Unity, Persistence, and Integrity further reinforces LDA's commitment to developing skilled riders and instilling important values that will benefit them in their personal and professional lives. Moreover, LDA's expansion of this initiative to other regions in South Africa and Zimbabwe in the coming years will provide even more opportunities for underprivileged youth to get involved in BMX and fulfil their potential.

Scaling Up Impact

LDA has established the non-profit organization "BMX4ALL" further to extend the impact and reach of this initiative.  To learn more about BMX4ALL visit their website www.bmx4all.org.
